by Marc Stevens, Stroke Folks Coordinator, Stroke Survivor
Strokes always get a bad rap! Sure they can maim you or even kill you, but great progress is being made in reducing the harmful after effects. This should give survivors hope and encouragement to marshal their mental determination and say, “ I’m not going to let this get me down”. I am going to fix what I can fix, then take what I have left and move on down the road. Life is too precious to allow yourself to give up. So, what I am saying is, your stroke could motivate and inspire you to do what you didn’t know you could do. It can make you appreciate and enjoy all the beautiful things in your life that you sometimes managed to ignore before your stroke.
